Now in its sixth year, the 25 Most Powerful Women in Business Awards celebrate leading women in business from across Atlantic Canada. They can be founders, CEOs, executive directors, communication leads, managers, VPs… Whatever the title, their leadership and influence are growing companies, shaping industries and building economies. Most importantly, they are making space for other women to step into their own power.

The selection process:
249 nominations were submitted for the 2026 competition through our online nomination portal. Each nominee was asked to complete and return a detailed Nominee Information Form, which was then shared with the volunteer panel of judges, all of whom are Powerful Women alumni. Nominees were assessed across five categories:

• Job-related leadership and performance
• Capacity to enact change on an industry-wide basis
• Influence on the broader business community outside their industry
• National and international presence/impact
• Efforts to champion other powerful women and lift-up the next generation
