Founded in 2022, Atlantic Business Magazine’s Employers of Diversity program celebrates Atlantic Canadian employers taking meaningful action to embrace Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Anti-Racism (DEIB-AR) in their workplace.

These employers are working to promote respectful, inclusive work environments, free of discrimination, while welcoming uncomfortable conversations that advance employee satisfaction and engagement while also driving innovation and fostering a sense of belonging for all.

 The selection process takes into account organizational strategies that foster/nurture diversity in areas such as: recruitment/hiring, diverse teams, inclusive workplace cultures, training and development, policy and programming, community outreach, and more.

Judges also reserve the right to review the applicant’s publicly-available information (websites, social media, news releases, etc…) to ensure their communications are an accurate reflection of information submitted on the nominee information form.

Winners will be celebrated in the July/August issue of Atlantic Business Magazine (print and online editions, with a combined 50,000 readers), recognized across our social media platforms and provided with digital badges for use on their website, in email signatures and for other marketing purposes.

Eligibility: All employers within the four Atlantic provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Next Steps: Complete and submit the online form no later than 11:59 PM AT on March 1. Applications submitted after that time will be held for the following year (i.e. if you submit on March 2, 2025, your application will held for 2026).

Note: this application requires the submission of TWO letters in support of your application. We recommend that one letter come from an employee/employee group inside your company and the other letter come from an external source who can verify the impact of your DEIB-AR agenda. Each letter should be no more than two pages in length.
