Some destinations specialize in conventions. Others lean into sports tourism or outdoor adventure. Edmundston is making a case for something broader: versatility.

Situated at the gateway to Atlantic Canada, the northwestern New Brunswick city has steadily expanded its ability to host everything from business meetings and consumer shows to national sporting events and large-scale community gatherings — all while maintaining the kind of accessibility and hospitality smaller centres often do best.

That flexibility is anchored by a growing roster of venues and accommodations.

Edmundston offers more than 700 hotel and inn rooms, along with several event facilities designed to accommodate gatherings of widely varying size and scope. In the downtown core, the Edmundston Convention Centre features more than 14,000 square feet of flexible event space for groups ranging from intimate meetings to conferences of roughly 650 attendees. The facility is connected directly to the Four Points by Sheraton hotel, simplifying logistics for planners and guests alike.

Elsewhere in the city, the Centre Jean-Daigle serves as home ice for the Edmundston Blizzard Junior A hockey club and a multi-purpose venue capable of hosting concerts, exhibitions and trade shows for crowds approaching 3,700 people.

Outdoor and recreational events also play an increasingly important role in the city’s tourism mix. Republik Nature — known as Mont Farlagne — hosts winter skiing competitions and snowmobile events, while summer programming now includes mountain biking competitions and the 2026 FMSQ Cross Country National championship.

Grey Rock Casino adds further conference and banquet capacity, while attractions such as the New Brunswick Botanical Garden provide off-site options for delegates and organizers.

“Edmundston is a dynamic event destination, offering diverse programming, professional infrastructure, and strong accommodation capacity,” says Marie-Claude Ménard, events co-ordinator for the City of Edmundston. “We can’t wait to welcome you.”
