“Eventually, you get to a point where the number of things to worry about gets so overwhelming that you just… stop worrying.”
This is probably the hardest column I’ve written in years. Why? Because I’m at the zen stage of pandemic response. Columnists are supposed to be passionate and opinionated, but lately, I’m struggling to get passionately upset or worried or mad about… well, just about anything.
Year one was all about the crisis response: masks and sanitizers and physical distancing; mass layoffs and cancelled events and vanishing revenue. Here at ABM, we fought back by investing in infrastructure and products and branding. Go team!
Year two saw the hopeful emergence of vaccinations and eased restrictions and ambitious plans. We prepared to soar in bold new directions, hiring new staff and activating strategies. Launches and expos and awards, oh my!
