Sherry Huang came to Canada in 1999, graduated from Simon Fraser University, and moved to Atlantic Canada in the mid 2000s. “First, I struggled, but I was attracted by the beauty here and this became home,” she says. Today Sherry guides an array of companies from Charlottetown to Beijing providing services in areas such as education, international business development and trade logistics. In 2009, she became co-owner of Study Abroad Canada (SAC), the only language school in P.E.I. that is Languages Canada certified. SAC has pathway agreements with many regional colleges and universities and offers programs targeted at international students and newcomers to Canada.

Sherry is also the owner of Sunrise Consulting, which provides professional and efficient consulting services and cultural and educational opportunities to clients in Atlantic Canada and Asia. The company provides research analysis and strategic planning, high-level mission organization, public and media consultations, and practical, results-oriented business planning.

Sunrise handles projects requiring diverse stakeholder consultations, timely management consulting insights and the facilitation and development of broad-based action plans. The company, both independently and through partnership with other enterprises, has helped grow the local economy in many ways including recruiting high-quality talent from all over the world for local enterprises.

Sherry has a profound understanding of international logistics and her portfolio includes another business affiliate: Sunrise Logistics, which provides software integrated trade and logistic solutions for customers in North America and Asia and has long-term coordination agreements with a number of international freight forwarding companies and a comprehensive service system throughout China and the world.

As if all of this isn’t enough, Sherry has brought the Canadian loved brands of COWS Ice Cream and Anne of Green Gables (Anne China) to China. If you are ever in Beijing and craving COWS ice cream, you can thank Sherry.

What has motivated Sherry to work so hard? She says, “I work hard because I believe the future belongs to whoever believes in their dreams and puts that into action.”
