David Hodgson wouldn’t call it a better mousetrap, but that’s essentially Hollo Medical’s promising new stock-in-trade for millions who suffer from chronic respiratory diseases around the world. “We set out to reinvent the valved holding chamber on inhalers to better deliver medication to the parts of the lungs where it’s actually needed,” says the inventor. This trained doctor/engineer is graduating from medical school at Dalhousie University this year and, as a professional engineer (P.Eng), once designed seat features for the Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee. “The idea is to help everyone get the most out of each breath.”
