WorkSafeNB’s record-breaking results reflect a province-wide commitment to safety — and New Brunswick workplaces are reaping the rewards.

In 2024, we hit a new national benchmark: the lowest injury frequency rate in the country. That makes New Brunswick the safest province in Canada to work. For businesses, that’s not just a safety milestone, it’s a competitive advantage.

It’s also helping lower costs. Today New Brunswick employers are benefiting from the lowest assessment rate in Atlantic Canada and the second lowest nationally, at $1.10. This past year, WorkSafeNB refunded over $180 million in performance refunds to eligible employers, thanks to our strong funded position.

“Our progress shows what can be accomplished when workers, employers, and our dedicated staff commit to a culture of care, prevention, and performance. The results speak volumes: fewer injuries, faster and safer return-to-work, better services, and stronger financial sustainability.”

 And we’re just getting started.

this shift is part of a broader transformation. We’re modernizing how we work by streamlining claims, improving digital services, and making it easier for employers to get the support they need, when they need it.

We know many employers want to do the right thing, but don’t always know where to start. We’re here to simplify that process, with real people who understand your industry.

This is especially timely as we gear up for Small Business Week and celebrate the entrepreneurs and employers who fuel our economy. WorkSafeNB is proud to partner with New Brunswick’s workplaces to create an environment that is safe and attractive to investment.
