Mysa Nordic Spa & Resort of PEI ranked one of North America’s best

Mysa Nordic Spa & Resort may be the first of its kind in Prince Edward Island, but it’s also one of the best in North America. And that’s not just because Owner/Operator Isaac Murphy says so.

“We were excited to receive news that we were named among some of the best spas in North America,” he says. “Our team has strived to deliver a world-class experience day in and day out so receiving this accolade was a great accomplishment for everyone here at Mysa.”

Of course, the only way to prove the boast is to see it for yourself. If you do, you won’t be disappointed. The establishment, which opened for business in 2022, offers 17 water view cottages, plus one suite in the main building that overlooks the spa grounds and the bay.

There, guests enjoy the classic Nordic spa experience, which consists of languishing in heat (bath, steam, or sauna) before immersing in cold (bucket or plunge) and, finally, resting to recover. “It’s amazingly exhilarating and restorative,” says Murphy. “I’ve always been a big fan of Nordic spas, but we didn’t have any here on the Island.”

Mysa is also sustainably managed, growing its own food and buying from local farmers to supply its kitchen and restaurant. “Our culinary philosophy is much like our therapeutic one—to nourish and rejuvenate in a sustainable manner,” Murphy says. “Not only that, but our biomass woodchip boiler is also optimally efficient thanks to the commercial thinning wood chipping method we use.”

A full day Thermal Experience is $65 (Mon-Fri) and $70 (Sat-Sun). A full day Thermal Experience with robe rental and sandal purchase is $93 (Mon-Fri) and $98 (Sat-Sun). A relaxation massage by a Registered Massage Therapist is $129/60 minutes; $169/90. Cottages start at $349/night.
